Thanks to all for the input. I am livng in the Middle East and my access to folk who could do a good cut-down job is slim. However, my dealer is veryhelpful and has ordered a 'shorty' for me to try. He deserves a mention - Dharan Harley Davidson - and for anyone in the neighbourhood, we have the 10th Anniversary ride of Harley Davidson in Saudi coming up in October. A 1000km ride accross the country to celebrate and everyone welcome.

I just ordered the King size one for the flstn to suit the deluxe lighting kit (hoping I ordered the right one!! Part no: 57181-05)....am 6' tall so hope I picked the right size... then again knowing me, and the fact that the bike looks better without it than with, I will probably only use it once
