Anyone recognize this compensator assembly? It on a 1995 softail I'm looking for info on it.

 

That's a Fisher balance master race damper. Snake oil in my opinion.

 

And $400 worth of snake oil at that....

They are a "balancing" product. I've seen them (several brands) used in place of the OEM harmonic balancers in automobile V-8 engines. Some love them, and some think they are snake oil... and that's in its proper application. This is the first I've heard of them being used on a Harley...


Harley compensators don't "balance" the engines, they absorb and minimize the engine pulses. It's done for both rider comfort and to reduce shock loads to the drivetrain...

IMHO.... two different jobs, two different products....

 

Fisher also sold balancers for that are mounted on the HD flywheel. Snake oil.
