have 05 deluxe, but think its time for new ride, always liked the look of night train, but also fat boy, pros or cons from any of these owers, would appreciate
such a personal decision. I vote for the FatBoy because it is easier to handle, has floorboards that make riding comfortable and its a very stable
bike to ride. I wanted a train at first but chose the FatBoy due to its versatility.
Well given that they are both softails, the drive line is the same. I belive that 07 and later Fatboys and Trains both have a 200 tire on the rear so that would be the same too. Now the Train has forward controls and the Fatboy had boards. The Fatboy also has a wider front tire and forks like your Deluex that will have better manners on the highway and will plant itself better in a turn. The Nite Train has the skinney 21" front wheel with a wide glide front end that will handle better but will feel "looser" or less stable in a turn. In reality those are about it in differances besides the cosmetic stuff. Bobed rear fender on the train Vs. a fuller more wraped around fender on the Fatboy, drag bars Vs. buck horn bars Blacked out everything Vs some chrome. So those are the things you really need to think about and most of it comes down to type of front end with what type of riding you really want to do and the cosmetic stuff.
I preferred the NT, blacked out, forward controls (don't like floorboards),type of front forks, overall styling. But I do like the more stable ride of the 16" front wheel...so I think I ended up with the best of both..
I had the same decesion to make last dec06 thats when In ordered my NT for me the NT won out as it's simply a sweet looking bike with little changes .to boot my friend owns a 00milenium NT withh a100/% stage 3all se package.Next year when I get out there again .were gonna hit hiway #2 and have a all out drag .He scares me as he is a old time hard core rider even if i out power him no telling who would win as he is 1 crazy mo fo that likes to win ..He was my insperation to the NT side .No regerets .
Cheers. good luck Do what is best for u .,
