I have a 2002 flstci and I need a passing lamp housing. HD says not available. Has anybody solved this problem without using used parts. The ones I've found have been pretty beat up... I'd use after market but I'm Leary of poor quality items.
Well if HD says not available, then after market it is my brother, or keep scouring the world wide web, just an FYI this is the "welcome" section try the Evo forum may get more info.
@strongtowerservices I have moved this thread from the Welcome section to the Softail Models section as you will get better responses to your question in this section.
The Welcome section is more for introducing yourself & letting other forum members know what Harley Davidson you own (which you have already completed).
Dennis Kirk has one that looks pretty decent. Imagine there may be take offs with the complete bar that can be found as well.
FWIW.....
I have purchased a few items from V-Twin Manufacturing in place of HD parts that are now obsolete.
I can't speak to this spot lamp specifically, or all of their stuff, but I have been lucky. The items I have purchased were very well made reproductions of HD parts.
I’m kind of in the same situation as the OP, except I’m looking for a headlight bucket. A new one from Harley is $300 and I’m not going to pay that for a headlight bucket. I have found a few on Amazon, eBay and Dennis Kirk, but most of the reviews are saying that the mounting hardware is metric which makes me leery of them. The bucket isn’t bent up or anything, just deep scratches in the chrome and they rust when exposed to moisture.
