Default Faulty switch

Hey guys, asking on here for a grounded rider. His 2011 Softail convertible CVO has a non functioning start button. He has tried everywhere but the part number 71110-11 is coming back as obsolete & the switch is no longer available. Does anyone on here know if there is one kicking around anywhere please ?
many thanks
Bob

Two quickies for him. Take it apart and see if it is just in need of cleaning the contacts. Second, Ebay.

In a pinch he could install a starter push button on the end of the starter solenoid, they will start the bike if the start switch, relay, or wiring fail...have one on my own bike as backup.
That would get the bike going until the root problem is fixed.

Hi, thank you for the suggestion. We have looked at this idea along with a separate handlebar mounted push button switch & also looking to see if the switch can be repaired by a specialist 😬

It's a simple switch. As a band-aid to get moving again, de-pin or even cut the wires at the connector. Splice in a normally open momentary contact switch. Hobby shops carry these switches.

Worse case, just leave the two wires sticking out, and touch them together to make the circuit and the starter motor spin.

Has anyone verified if the engine kill switch is in the correct position?

Always used switch blocks etc available on eBay you could source one from but before that have you tested the switch?
