71718-02 Auxiliary On/Off Switch

Won't be momentary. Have to flip it on and off. If you have an empty spot you can install a CVO Momentary switch P/N 71764-07. Harley uses it for electric saddlebag locks.

or if you have some smarts you can use a relay on for instance the high beam circuit,--- hit the high beam and the door moves.

I have an 08 Road King Classic and was going to get the handlebar mounted Black Auxiliary Accessory Switch Housing, P/N 70248-02B, and thought maybe the Auxiliary On/Off switch, P/N 71718-02, could be used in doing this. I'm not interested in wiring the garage door opener to the head light high beam as the HD instructions call for in their door opener. I've been looking at using one of my spare remotes to wire it into the switch I'm asking about. I've seen where many folks on this forum have done some pretty creative things, but no one has done it with the switch housing I'm buying for other accessories.
I believe I'm going to try the Trip Reset Switch, P/N 67488-04, and the Reset Switch Boot, P/N 67880-94, that Potato Potato mentioned to mount in one of the spare covers on the Auxiliary Accessory Switch Housing, P/N 70248-02B.
Any thoughts or more suggestions are certainly welcome.

I used my aux switch and a 12v starter relay (since my opener remote was not 12v) to operate my garage door opener.

I use this switch with the rubber boot. This is a 2 way because I have 2 garage doors that have to be opened when I get home. Up opens one door and down opens another.
