Exhaust pipe question
I helped a friend install a set of V&H pipes the other day. 05 Heritage. Both pipes had a small extension that slipped over a piece on the frame. Seemed have a gasket of some sort on there. What the heck are they for? I don't see anywhere that allows any exhaust to come out of the frame.....

It sounds like they are similar to my 06 Softail. The short little extensions tie the two exhaust pipes together. It evens out the sound and increases low end torque. The black bar that they attach to is hollow. Neat idea. The gaskets are used to make the seal tight so you don't have an exhaust leak.
