oil leak problem
I want to thank everyone for the helpful suggestions I tried the stat o seal washers without success as the OEM drain bolt was still not running up straight and level in the hole. I had my ASE certified grandson come over to lend his expertise. He verified the threads in the trans case were toast.
He found me online an oversized 1/2 -20 self -tapping, piggy back magnetic drain plug.
We raised the rear of the bike to gain some extra work room.
Applied a heavy dose of blue gel loctite to the threads and carefully ran the plug up into the drain hole until we had a good, solid fit. Let it dry over night then inserted the piggy back insert with some teflon tape and tightened it well.
Refilled the tranny and after two 45 mile rides everything is dry!!
I was really worried that I was facing a transmission case replacement job.
Really happy to have saved big $$$
