Default Red wire

I have 2004 FLSTFI and while trouble shooting an electric issue I found a Red wire with a gray connector that wasn’t connected I tested for currency and found it to be hot regardless of the position of the ignition/acc switch. I was wondering if anyone know what this wire is for.

Some may know off the top of their heads what that wire is....

For the rest of us less electrically enlightened folks, do you have a pic of the wire, or can you tell us where it's located...?

Looks to be around a 12 ga wire - My guess, heated gear connection.

My guess, something you don't have.
Start pulling fuses to confirm it's fused, if it is,
read what the legend says in the manual.

B+ connector. Typically used to add accessories that require unswitched power. It's protected by the 15 amp battery fuse. To be on the safe side, it is recommended not to exceed 10 amps.

Barneyboy, beat me to it.....

I originally thought it couldn't be the B+ connector because it had two wires going into it....

Then I realized it was my old eyes playing tricks on me, it IS a single red wire....

Here are the wiring schematics for your bike.

Talk about old eyes. I misinterpreted the diagram. Apparently, it is unfused. In any case, it is recommended not exceed 10 amps.

Thanks for the help I have the Harley Davidson shop manual for 2004 Softail models. It has the electric diagrams. If only I could understand them.
