Default Lift?

I’ve got a 2024 Harley Davidson Fatboy. I was looking for one of those hydraulic lift jack things that go under the frame. I’m coming due for new tires. I’m not paying HD rates for tires. I can order the rear from J&P cycles for 131 dollars cheaper than Harley. Also one of the local motorcycle mechanics quoted me $35 to mount and balance if I bring the tires and rims off the bike. I think my nearish HD dealer I go to charges like $150 or something like that to mount a single tire.

Anyway I stumbled on the Harley Davidson lift but it says softail models require some frame protector. Any idea is that specific to the Harley Davidson version or is that needed for all of that style jack? I’m not even sure exactly what it is.

Just use hockey pucks or pieces of 2X4 to match the frame to the lift. Make sure you use tie downs while the bike is on the lift.

The lower frame of the bike has parts that will interfere with the pads on the jack lift, pucks or 2X4 will raise it above those areas.

If Harley doesn't mount your tire, you won't get Harley air. Make sure that doesn't affect your warranty, if it hasn't expired.

Harley uses a special air mixture containing:
Nitrogen 78%
Oxygen 21%
Argon + other trace gases 1%

Fat-and-Slow, The poster above, bustergut has the right answer for you. I tried searching for that part but couldn't find it for you. I have a set of the 94675-99 he references and they work great. If I were you I would snag that set off of ebay. Good luck.

OK, not a frame expert, but......

I have a set of #94675-99 frame protectors that I use on my Twin Cam Softail bikes... That version came out in 1999. They are designed to protect the under-frame, horizontal shock's body from being pushed on by the jack. The shock bodies stick slightly below the frame rails. They can be cut or otherwise customized for your application.

There was another frame protector kit that I used for my Twin Cam Dyna Low Rider. It was specifically designed for the Dynas that had the oil pan protection plate sticking below the frame rails. I forget the part number. It never worked as good as my two pieces of wood...

Those two kits are no longer in production.

The OP has a 2024 FatBoy.... I've never seen the new "softail" mono shock frames in person, nor tried to lift one with a jack.

Do they have something that protrudes below the frame rails, that would get in the way of jacking them up?

I was curious, and the pictures I could find on the internet don't show anything protruding below the frame rails that would affect a scissor lift, or a dual rail jack....

These pics make it look like they are perfectly suited to a jack between the frame rails without any assistance? Are frame protectors even necessary?

After looking up the HD Lift, I can't see why it won't work...

What am I missing?

I don't know of any reason you can't lift a 24 Fatboy with a typical jack under the frame. I know I do it without drama or incident on my 23 Heritage.
