I was wondering if any riders use asimple throttle grip accessory that lets youcontrol the throttle with the bulk of the hand instead of the typical grip of the fingers?
I have seen the acessory in a few magazines but not sure exactly what it is called.
Did a 300 mile cruise the other day and thought how much more relaxed my hand would have been if I had one.
Then again the negatives may outway the positive on this?
Not sure what the negatives would be though?
I tried a "Throttle Rocker". I didn't like it. The down side is bumping it and jerking around when you are riding through a town or at any other time when you are using less throttle than on the highway. To make it comfortable on the highway, it needs to be affixed to your throttle at an angle above horizontal. This cranks your wrist in an up position when you are at lower speeds. I didn't like this and didn't feel safe using it. I gave it away.
I like the one I have, it is fully and easily adjustable. You just spin it up and around the throttle to put it in the suitable position for desired speed. I admit it took a hundred miles or so to get used to it, but now I love it.

I quit using mine for exactly the same reason. Good on the hiway, but was in the way in town driving. Now I just tighten up the throttle **** with my thumb when hiway riding.
I have the kuryaken throttle boss, and I love it. They are'nt cheap though. If you don't have kuryaken grips, you have to buy the grips and throttle boss,if you already have the grips, the throttle boss is about 18.00.
I like mine and for $10 if you don't like it, no big loss. It freely spins to a new position and in town you can spin it completely out of the way or just move your hand in closer on the grip and away from the rocker.
Spend $10 and if you hate it it makes a great gift..............

That makes three of us, I went back to using the screw lock. But I don't like to use it as I ride with gloves on all the time and that little wheel is hard to manipulate with them on.
So last week Iordered a ThrottleLockerand am waiting for it to show up. Its "lever" arm is longer and better shaped for gloves than any of the other clip on levers. It alsouses a lowerthread count sizeso that it takes less rotation of the lever to get the same amount of locking pressure.
I've been using the cramp buster for a few years and really like it. That's the $10 plastic piece that you squeeze onto the end of the grip. In normal riding my hand fits on the grip and never touches the buster. When on the highway, I just slide my hand to the end of the grip and rest my palm on the plastic piece. It definitely eases the tension in the grip on long rides. I've never found it to cause problems and at $10 it's worth a try.
With my Iso grips, I can pretty much control the throttle on the highwayopen handed. I have a throttle boss that I also use on occasion. I don't use the throttle screw though. Just doesn't seem all that safe to me.
