Is the plug number 14 originally for the fuel injection? It doesn't say what it is it just says plug, and it also has a rubber plug in the center of it to seal it up. My bike is 03 FLSTC. Carbureted.
Yeah, the Data Link Connector should have a (black) plug in it. It should be a
4-pin Deutsch connector (often gray) and uses the J1850 communication protocol.
I think the CAN-bus style is 6-pin and in-production on some 2012 models
(but I could be wrong).

I know Softails went to the Canbus in 2011, I believe Dynas went to the Canbus in 2012. Touring didn't go to the Canbus until the Rushmore bikes in 2014....
It's for a tech to plug in and check the electronic doo-hickeys on the bike. Or...it's for you to jam a paper clip in to make your engine light flash and then read the codes.
