meanbite,
Man, I wish Ihad the $$$ to do that. I love the look of my wires.
trob,
not thatI'm aware of. I havent noticed it with my headlights goingdim or whenI start her up.I should try and hook up a meter to it and see. But as ofright now,I have nothad any issues with the battery.
For a Night Train I recommend the PM Phatail kit. You will need to check their website to see if it will work with an '07 or '08. Also you can try Hawg Halters, http://hawghalters.com/index.html.
Heres a question that I don't think anyone covered...did ya'll send in the aftermarket fender to Harley to get it painted in Black Denim or did you find someone locally who matched it? And if it was a local guy, will the paint "age" the same way as the Harley Black Denim? Will Harley even paint aftermarket tins?
after looking at these bikes and deciding this is the look i want, the reality of the $$$$ involved is probably going to be prohibitive at this time.
so i got to thinking and researching, and came up with this idea:
what about taking a rocker (240 tire already and no transmission changes) and putting on a set of aftermarket fender struts, fender, and seat?
this way there would be no need for transmission changes, new swingarm, new wheel, or new tire. with a new fender, the lights and license plate could be relocated
looking at the frames and fender of the rocker, the only things i notice different are the way the fender attaches. the rocker fender attaches directly to the swing arm. the rest of the frame looks the same. of course the seat is different.
changing the struts, fender, seat, lights, and license plate location, would be about $5000 less (by guesstimation!) than doing the 250 kit from heartland.

I took mine to the Harley dealer to be matched...that's the ONLY thing I've taken to them....freakin' stealer!

what do you guys think?
It would be nice if that idea would work. Maybe it would save a little cash.
I love the looks of these kits but... I personally am going with the RSD vintage kit, a 3" open BDL primary and a Performance Machine sprotor with red laced wheels front and rear. I haven't ordered the first parts yet but I am working on it. I'm also putting the Kuryakin HID headlight on but I'm powdercoating it red also. The seat will be a solo spring seat with thick tooled tan hide. I'd rather spend my money on this stuff than a 240 or 50 tire but thats just my .02
