[clip] I know both are just about opposite ends of the spectrum as far aslook, and I also know that in the end its my decision and preference, but I am hoping for some thoughts.

Actually, they aren't very dissimilar... I think, like Pepperhead said, one of the big choices is whether you want the chrome or blacked-out look...
Ride them both, give proper consideration to the mileage (not a huge difference) and the owner, make your choice and just RIDE and ENJOY!
I think I would get the Duce since they dont make them any more. I dont see a whole lot of Duces running around in San Diego so if those where my 2 choices, the train is a dime a dozen and the Duce is more unique.
tunaman said it right. You've got to go with the one that feels right and has the look you want. That being said, I've never been a big fan of the Deuce. That rear wheel and fender just don't do it for me. Plus I ride a Night Train.
To hard for me to say, but you should check out the prices on a new '07.
I'll bet you could find one for $15,000, that's only $2,500 more
- end of the riding year in PA
- end of the model year
- cheaper interest from Harley on an '07
- Full warrenty
- Fuel Injected
But that's probably gonna be $40 more a month for a new bike
I think it's worth asking about.
He has loved the look of the Duece for such a long time. Then his buddy's night train went up for sale and seemed to me Serge was talking himself into liking the night train more than the duece. It really does come down to black or chrome. I'm rooting for chrome.. but maybe that's because I like things that sparkle and shine.
Look around both of those are over priced for their age. You could do better, or do some negotiating with them and see who can give you the best deal. I saw a 2003 NTrain go for $9500 a couple weeks ago.
Not a biggie, but the Deuce exhaust pipes are one above & one below the passenger pegs. If you do two up riding you will ruin your boots and mess up that upper pipe. It's easily fixed with a nice set of Vance & Hines BSS (learned that lesson the hard way). Looks like you won't have that problem on the NT. That shouldn't be a reason to eliminate the Deuce but wanted to give you a heads up.
