I'm a bit partial because I just traded a Deuce. I love the look and style of the Deuce. But I also like the look and style of the Train. The biggest problem with the Deuce is the availability of parts. Just about everything is FXSTD specific. You wouldn't have that problem with the Train. The Deuce to me has a more unique look than the train, though. If you like the blacked-out look, you could always black out the Deuce motor. I think that would look pretty cool and you'd have the best of both worlds. Both bikes should feel about the same as far as the ride is concerned. It really just comes down to a style/looks issue. And only you can be the judge on that.
I have to admit I paid $12k for this 2002 Deuce last spring, but it had 3,600 miles, was local one owner (senior citizen) and had $4,000 in extras. I knew it was high but I liked the bike and the goodies. Figured a new one would have been about $22k with the add-ons.
I like chrome so just for me, personal preference, it's the Deuce if you can get the price right.
Personaly I love chrome. I do agree that you should check out new bike prices though, you may be surprised what you can buynew for the same monthly payment. The payments may be for more years, however then you can select a longer warranty if you want.
Well this just keeps getting tougher. We are going to pick up Taras 883 custom tomorrow and at the dealer they have a 06 Deuce w/ 2500 miles on it. I have a feeling they will take 14.5k for it, all stock except for a set of pipes. Its beautiful, I saw it when we bought Taras a week ago.
Still undecided though, I love the look of both bikes, each is tough in its own way and each is one I would love to own...what to do, what to do.
Heck if I was gonna buy an 06 Duece for 14K id step up to the plate and get an 07 ( if theres any left ). Atleast youd get the 96 , 6 speed ,and a 2 year warranty for a few extra bucks a month.I mean when your going to finance almost $15K why not get new for $17?
