FBOY, ikept the stock seat. I'm 5'6" and before I got the bike, I was concerned if the bike would be to high for me with the wide seat and all. Considered going with a narrow seat and even lowering the bike. That was all before my Fatty arrived. Once I sat on it, all worries were gone. I was able to have both feet flat. Don't mind the stock seat right now. I take my 11yr old boy for rides, he says the passenger seat is not that comfortable. I'm sure I would hear bitchin from the wife if she ever went for a ride with me. But she hasn't even sat on it yet. Oh well. What part of BC do you have family in?
thanks for the information dlo3...by the way, nice bike, and do you mind my asking what kind of seat you've put on? I'm also wanting to take the stock seat off mine and find something a little less wide, maybe about an inch lower, but still comfortable for the long rides
thanks for the compliment. i just put the lepera bare bones on it a couple of days ago. it isn't as comfy as the fact seat but i'm used to this type of seat. i had one on my L/R that was stollen last year. for long rides wothout alot of stopping u will get sore. but if u try this seat with the gel pad it might be good for somewhat long rides. i do ride 100 -200 mile in a day but i'm on and off the bike. i'd say after about 80 miles i need a quick break. hope this helps.
i also have the burn-out kit wich lowered the rear 1.5". i do have the stock seat and aftermarket pillion for the wife,so no worries there.
i love how the bike feels now with the lower seat and lower suspension.
jay.
