Default clutch cable "stretch"?

Hi
My 2007 softail std. has just done about 600miles (1000klms) from new, and I have had to adjust the clutch cable twice now and to-day I noticed that there is play in it again! and the gear change is dragging and noisy!
Is it the norm for the cable to stretch like this or is something else likely to be going on in the clutch itself ?

Sounds a little premature to me.

I adjusted my cable twice then wound up adjusting the clutch. Been fine for about the last 4k miles.

Dealer adjusted my clutch inside primary housing. Need to remove Derby cover, adjust clutch per manual. They did this as part of 1000 mi service.
I told them clutch handle had normal tolerance of 1/8" but they said not cable adjustment...then did the clutch itself. Worked fine. No dragging, clean engage/disengage. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I suspected that it may need the actual clutch adjusted and not just the cable.
Hopefully will be ok till the first service.
