I recently purchased a 06 FXST. I'm only 5'-8" so the seat height is a little to high. I am having a problem finding a seat that will fit the 06 model. A couple of manufacturers will be making them available in the summer of 06. That is a long time to wait. I really don't want to lower the bike just the seat. Does anyone know where to find one?
Thanks, David
Best bet is the HD catalogue. They should have a few seats with a bit less cushion for a lower height. Im kind of surprised your finding the seat high on a Softail at 5' 8". Maybe think about getting some adjustable profile rear shocks and some progressively wound or dual rate lower'd fork springs up front? Might be a much better route for you. And you will improve the suspension in the process.
When I bought the bike they were out of the catalogs. I need to go pick one up. I tried to order a solo seat on online from a hd dealership and they said they did not have one that would fit the 06. I have short legs[sm=headbang.gif]
Bastards arent they? A few months back, one salesman even tried to SELL me one for $10 when we came by to pick up a few bikes from them(which we were doing service work on for them of all things). It gets a little out of hand at times....
Glad to hear the links helped you out, and glad to hear you saved some $$$$ in the process. Take some pics when you get the new seat on. BTW how much lower does the Brawler lower the inseam height of the standard?
Mega, thanks for the link. I was going to order some stuff up soon since the local dealer has some 15% off days, but this is a MUCH better deal. Time to make a list...
