I took the air filter off for a cleaning and oiling(K&N) in the standard housing and found that the rubber tubes that attach to the breather were not on securely or shall I say had been butchered by someone at the stealer or the prior owner. They were torn and did not have a tight fit. The gasket was also torn and in very poor condition. I figure that the same person did all of this.
Next will be a pic of the I guess breather tubes on the air filte. I dunno if you can see the damage in the pic or not but it is wirth a try.
So to get to the point here I am curious if these breather tubes being kinda torn up (which you cannot see in the picture) could this cause carb farts? Or a poor seal where it is supposed to be air tight like the air filter gasket? What do you think? Thanks... Almost forgot. I took off the flapper valve on the front of the air filter housing as well. Just ripped it outta there. Next will be to mod the housing a bit, or get a big sucker. What size socket do you need for the breather bolts? Some kinda long socket? Whatever it is, I don't have it.
