Ive seen wrapped headers develop pin holes in one season.
One set after a few years came apart in my hands!
Mind you this is on Turbo cars with much higher exhaust temp but even so I would still stay away from header wrap. Just my experience and not based on a website
Did you see my pic? I have wraps. Second set of pipes I wrapped. The other set ison a friends bike. Not a damn thing wrong with either set. My experience. Not a website.
I'll give you one thing, maybe, just maybe the pipes will turn to crap, but that'll be in 5 to 10 years. I don't know about you, but I'll probably have a new set of pipes by then anyway. I get bored.
Well, I put it on for 2 reasons.
1. To help protect myself from any unwanted skin on my exhaust.
2. To cover up what was left of a nice white plastic bag they blew up on my nice pipes only a week or 2 after installing the exhaust!
