Default lowering an 07 softail standard

I am looking at the Arlen ness kit (adjustable slam) and the progressive suspension lowering kit. What is the best to go with? Has anyone used one or the other? Are there any tips that you would give if you used one kit or the othere.

I used the Arlen Ness Kit to lower my 06 nightrain. I have not changed my shocks so I can't speak on them but I would assume that changing of the shocks would help witht he rougher ride associated with slamming you bike. I lowered the front and rear 2.5 inches. I was willing to sacrifice the ride a little for the improved look.I have never bottomed out the rear endbut I have bottomed out the front end so you'll have to be a little more careful when you ride. Overall I am very satisfied with the kit and I am considering replacing the shocks but right now it doesn't seemcrucial... Good luck with your decision and post some pics so we can all see your bike slammed!

Allthough it is more costly to replace the shocks, the Progressive 422's are adjustable for highth and stiffness. Used in conjunction with Progressive's fromt spring lowering kit with SE heavy duty fork oil you will not only look good, you will have a much smoother and adjustable ride.
There are many forum members who have used the 422's just hit the search button in this forum with Progressive 422.

rockerhead the progressive system is the best. I just love the set up I called the company to get some additional info and that paid off. Thanks
