A Little Help Please
I use to have a 2002 Wide Glide Carbureted with stage 1 kit, screaming eagle ignition, and Samson pipes. Zippy as all get out but long hauls were wearing my old *** out. Bought a 2005 Heritage Softail with stage 1 EFI and Vance and Hines pipes. A lead sled. I new I was gonna give up some performance but did not know the drastic loss of power there was between the two. Do not want to go to the big bore so I am asking for any suggestions on how to get some pep out of this bike. I have to gear down to pass a car. No roll on power at all as compared to the Wide Glide. Thanks for any help getting me in the right direction.
Maybe the first thing to do would be to get it dynoed to see if its setup properly.
It can have all the goodies Just because it has the goodiesdoesn't mean their all working together for you.

One school of thought is that the 88B engine doesn't have quite the power that the 88 engine does. If that is in fact the case, then your Heritage won't respond as well as the Dyna. However, Frank's right, you should get the bike dyno'd to make sure it is performing as it is supposed to be.
I am gonna get it dyno'd but what I was looking for is to put something on it first i.e. power commander, ignition system, or even cams. Just need to know what makes a Heritage thump. The right combination if you will. Thanks.
