Has anybody installed a set of these on a Softail ? I Ordered some off E bay and all that was in the box was the pipes and a bag of harware. No instructions or even a parts list. How do I even know if I have all the parts for mountingbefore I start. The seller said that they don't come with instructions.WTF.............Thanks in advance
I do have a set on my bike. I like them a lot. Deep and throaty.
1) Bolt the supplied trapezoid bracket to your frame. Keep it a little loose for alignment later.
2) Bolt the pipes to your heads, but do not tighten. You'll need the wiggle room to finish the installation.
3) For each pipe, take the supplied bolt and washerand put it through the bracket on the pipe, then the supplied spacer, then through the trapezoid bracket. On the backside finish off with the supplied washer and nut.
4) Align the pipes so they look straight on the bike. You may have to force thingsas you tighten everything down to be perfect.
5) Now tighten everything.
6) Start that bitch up, crack the throttle and **** off the neighbors.
I included a pic I made. If it's too small here, PM me with your e-mail and I'll send it to you.
By the way, since these pipes are so big, I recommend a set of torque cones. $25 or so on Ebay.
And don't forget your new exhaust gaskets. Get the "performance gaskets"...the thin ones.
No, not from Demon Cycle. The guy I bought them from seems legit.I don't think he ever even saw the box.Looks like they were shipped directly from the manufacturer. The parts bag contains numerous different sized nuts, bolts, brackets and spacers.Just seems like they would give you an idea where to start.
Candy Azz ,You're the man.Thanks.The pipes I ordered are longer than yours and mount at the rear too.I'm sure I'll get it all figured out. Thanks again for the help.. Kent
