Deluxe Saddlebags Installation
Can you tell me how the install of HD Deluxe standard hard saddlebags is? What type of hardware comes with the kit if any and which lugs must be removed off the fender? Thanks.

Mine came with standard bolts. Not sure if has changed. That was a couple years ago. The fender strut bolts you remove will be obvious when you hold the bags up to the strut. I ended up using an exhaust stud inplace of the bolts. Screwed the stud into the fender strut untill flush to the inside of the fender and fit the bags over the stud with a nut on the inside. It worked out well. Allowed me pop them off pretty quick for washing. I since sold them and went to leather pro bags. The deluxe bags are just to small. Could not even put my jacket in them. I do like the looks of the HD spriinger bag on a deluxe.

just installed mine 2 month ago (and yes, they are kinda small). not very difficult with all mounting hardware included. took me ca 1.5 hours. only problem was that my torque wrench seems to fail it's settings and i overtightened the bolts. all of a sudden it made an nerve wrecking sound (sort of what you hear at the dentist when your wisesom tooth get's pulled). broke the threat and had to have the stealer install a new plate on the fender... bad mistake..

I have to agree, real easy (and obvious)to install. I took the opportunity to get the detachable hardware kit and didn't use the stock hardware supplied with the bags. Since the bags are a little small, now when necessary I can supplement with a detachable tour pack.
