Hi,
am looking for an aftermarket fuel management system for my 2007 FXSTC. What are the more popular brands and is there any differences. Please advice.
Hi, I started off with the vance hines fuel pack, but wasnt happy..lots of popping on decal, etc etc. Just installed a power commander, bike runs like a dream....
Yes I agree with Hammer02 If you are not going past stage 1 , then pcIII or fuel pak would be best. Now if your budget allows and you may make more extensive mods in the future I think you will find that a large number of forum members have installed Thunder Max tuners with great results. Best buy is from SHOOTER64 a great guy and will hook you up with the best price around for the T/MAX
PS to JUMPORJERKOFF
Sorry V&H didn't help , there are a few posts in theEFI section where members have posted some changes that eliminated thier decel pop.
I have the Thundermax w/AutoTune on my '08 Custom. I love it. I had a set of Martin Bros pipes on my bike and it was tuning itself to those pipes. Then I switched to Cobra 2-into-1's and it tuned itself for those. Had I been using a PCIII, FuelPak, or SERT, I would have had to dyno my bike to get it tuned right. Gotta say I'm lovin' having the Tmax. The bikejust keeps getting better each time I ride it.
The Thundermax w/AutoTune isn't just good for people who plan on doing more mods later down the line. It's also good for people who ride in areas with elevation changes, such as up in the mountains. It's even good for people who ride in different temperatures, such as the year round riders. It also adjusts itself according to what type of riding you're doing, such as highway or in-town. You gotta remember, when you get your bike dyno tuned, it's being tuned for the conditions that are in the dyno room. That means it's being setup for the temperature, humidity, elevation, airflow, etc. in that room. As soon as you take the bike outside and the temperature is different, the humidity is different, you ride up in the mountains, or even just ride period (because I doubt they had a giant fan blowing on the air cleaner to simulate riding), the settings are going to be off. The Thundermax w/AutoTune gets around all that by constantly tuning itself.
Well actually thr Fuel Pak is downstream of the stock ECM and does not effect the stock adjustments for alttitude and temp. And I read that in HD forums so it must be true!.
