I have an '06 FLST (Heritage Softail Standard). Bags are not included with this model. Basically a Heritage Classic without bags. I purchased Heritage bags off ebay that came off a '06 Heritage Classic. I have a detachable backrest. How does the bubbas brack detachable hardware or Bare backs work with the detachable backrest. The holes in the Heritage bags do not match the bolts for the detachable backrest. There is an additional bolt in the fender that is behind the detachable backrest which I assume is where the bags would normally attach. Do I need to drill a hole in the detachable backrest or are there other solutions?
my bubba system has thecenter of the bolts for back rest then the middle of the bolts are threaded for the hardware they send to attach the bags ill try a pic to show u
Thanks for the info. That is how it would work on my bike if I didn't have the detachable backrest. The side plate covers the center bolt where tha bag would normally attach. The 2 bolts that are connect the detachable plate to the fender are further apart than the holes saddlebags. I may need to post pics.
Well,I purchased the Heritage bags, now in order for them to work on my '06 FLST, I have to get an additional parts for $560+ to make them work. This was the quote from dealer. New detachable side plates, docking hardware, support for the brace at passenger foot peg, etc... It does include the Bubba's Brake hardware $200. I was expecting the $200 for bubbas, but not everything else. I have a detachable side plate, but it does not have the slot.
Kent if you already have detachable backrest then you should only need something like easybrackets. I think they should work for you. I almost went with them but went with a different style of bag so I went with a different mounting system. I even called them and spoke with one of the owners of the company. Try contacting them to see if it will work for you.
