Just took mine off/on for the 1st time. When I put it back on, it looks like it is on the top and bottom grommets all the way, but I can jiggle it back and forth.
Also what is the wire latch for, I pulled it back when I took the shield on/off but it doesnt seem to do anything.

The wire latch keeps it on. It won't let it come forward when they are down. They are supposed to be pulled up until they clear, not pulled back. Even without them in place, if the hooks at the bottom are all the way down on the grommets, it shouldn't be that easy to move back and forth. When the windshield is on right, the wire latches should just fall down into the right position by themselves. Hope this helps.
