In my case, I didn't have the jiffystand locked-in. I got off the bike and leaned against my rear fender bag after walking behind the bike. In slow motion the bike rolled forward a tad and then went over on its left side. I have one little scratch on the left rear turnsignal housing. Engine guard did what it was suppose to do.
You should see me now when I put the kickstand down. I really (really) don't want this happening again.
I had my leaned over at Myrtle Beach bike week. LEANED REAL FAR down then that burst of energy came threw knowing how much my woman would kill me if i dropped it. Pulled up to the bar and got excited and forgot all about that thing that holds the bike up. Very close. My friends said they looked like it was in slow motion they couldn't even move to help.
Sucks don't it...[&o]
I've only done it once.... At the Iron Horse in Ormond Beach during "Biketober Fest" about 10 years ago.
Was riding with a fine looking lady, she got off the bike and my mind was on that fine azz....the rest, as they say, is history...

First time on my brand new Deluxe, with less than 100 miles on it, my boot lace caught in the shifter for just long enough to loose my balance. I got new laceless boots after that incident.
I have laceless boots too but I was at a dealers oncewearing sneakers. Caught thelaces on the shifter ona brand new Wideglide and couldn't get "unhooked" in time. Fortunatly I hadn't put the stand up and the bike stopped itself with it.
Scared me goodas it was tipping over cause all I could see was the other6 or 7 bikes in line going over likegiant dominos with me caught between a couple.
I did it too, 500 miles on the bike. Cost me a left side mirror, clutch lever and a shifter peg. It was a good excuse to change out the brake and clutch lever to the black anodized. Never happened when I had the Sportster, but once the bike went far enough I couldn't stop it. Picked it up a lot faster than i thought I would.

That could have been very costly and embarrassing. Funny thing isI see sport bike riders wearing sneakers all the time.
used to do shift work and get home at 2 or 3am ... short story , pulled into the driveway , stopped and didn't even attempt to put my feet down, I was soooo tired. So there I was still on bike but lying on ground. snapped indicator and a few bits and pieces ... Oh and I have also been a smart *** one day and put the stand down just as i was stopping , trouble was the bike moved another few inches and it popped back up again DOH ! Good news both were on rice burners. MUCH more careful now !
Man sorry to hear that. I haven't done that one yet but I'm sure I will someday. I have forgotten to put it up a few times but luckily I realized it before it was too late.
