Default Cleaning Exhaust Pipes

I ride my Softail Deluxe every chance I can, including to work. I wear jeans on the ride towork andchange in the office. One morning after changing I had to jump on the bike and go to a meeting. A portion of my dress pants melted onto the pipes (Vance & Hines 2-into-1 Pro). Can anyone recommend the best way to clean the pipes and remove the residue?

I take the melted rubber from my boots off my V & H BSS with Easy Off Oven Cleaer, just get the pipes hot and spray it on, let it sit a minute or so and wipe.

For stubborn stains on my pipes I use S100 Polishing Soap. The scrubber pad and the polishing compound work great together. http://www.s100.com/s100_fr.htm

Try nail polish remover. It will melt a lot of synthetic fabrics, so they can be wiped off and then polish. Don't know if it will work on your pants, but its worth a shot.

Oven cleaner is your best bet as XARANsaid, but be warned, make sure you dont get any on your paint or that will come off too. You could also try a magic eraser, they work pretty good.

There is a product called Blue Job that my dealer sells that works very well. It is a powder that you wipe on with a damp cloth. It removes tar and melted boot rubber without scatching your pipes.
