Actually, I shouldn't say it is ugly... it isn't at all. It just isn't as exceptional looking as it's predecessor. I have seen a few for sale second hand here in Australia on eBay and I think they bought them expecting them to look the same as the previous model.
As you say, not much you can go about it.... I just REALLY liked the look of the previous model and wanted to know if there was something that resembled it.

I have the BareBones on my 07 Fatty and I agree it's not as good looking as the older model LePera solo seats. It does come up the rear fender more than the older models but what can ya do?

I hate it when I bag a product generically then someone has it on their bike 
I did however re-phrase my comment... I really DO like it much better thanmost other aftermarket seats... but I don't like it nearly as much as the old one... that's about as good as a retraction as I can do

That's another reason I chose the Corbin Hollywood Solo. And good for all day... I have a lepera with gel for the 200 I'll sell cheap...

There isnt anything Ugly about the seat... I Also had a 99 with a bare bones solo and it looked alot better, and was more comfortable than the 07-08 seemed to be.. The corbin sits lower on the front of the rear fender and I can ride all day...

No problem , I don't get offended to easily . I do what I like to my bike noone else has to like it . I don't really care for the look of the corbin seat but thats my opinion . I know what you mean about the old and new version but I guess they can only do so much with what the seat has to cover
