Default LePera Barebones seat for 07/08 models is ugly?

G'day,

I was thinking about getting a LePera Barebones seat for my 07 fatboy. I saw the one that Moggsy has on his bike and it looks GREAT! But his is an older model without the 200mm rear tire... from what I understand the 200mm rear tire models need a different model barebones seat which I am guessing is SUPPOSED to look the same BUT it seems to go a LOT further up the rear fender and looks no where near as good.

Is it just me? Am I looking at the wrong part number or something? Is there one that fits an 07 model fatboy (with 200mm rear tire ofcourse) that looks as nice as the one on Moggsy's bike.

Any help appreciated.

Dean

I haven't seen that seat yet. I would think that all the solo seats for the '07s and '08s are going to come up higher on the rear fender to hide the ecm. I haven't seen under the seat of my Softail, but my Sportster has the ecm located in a cut-out in the rear fender. If the Softails are the same way, the solo seats have to come up higher in the rear to hide it.

Edit: One of my sentences didn't make sense, so I fixed it.

Aaaahhhh.... that's why!! Yeah the whole look of the seat is spoilt by how they go so far up at the back I reckon.... Good thinkin' 99!!

I have the BareBones on my 07 Fatty and I agree it's not as good looking as the older model LePera solo seats. It does come up the rear fender more than the older models but what can ya do?

Agreed...I have a barebones on my 08 and was disappointed as well. It grows on you but it is not like the previous design....

That's another reason I chose the Corbin Hollywood Solo. And good for all day... I have a lepera with gel for the 200 I'll sell cheap...

Trotter, don't bother tryin to sell it. Nobody in their right mind would put an ugly seat on their bike.
