Default Seat height

So I am leaning toward a Fat boy my question is the seat height can it be lowered? Right now specs say 27 and half inches. Short legged old man.

You can get a thinner seat, or lower the bike. Another thing you can do is have the seat modified, narrow the front end, thin out some foam...Narrowing the front end even 1/2 inch on each side makes a workld of difference and the seat still looks stock.

My 2005 SE Fat Boy comes lowered in the rear, but I think it is only 3/4" lower then a regular Fat Boy. My seat is also lower. The specs in my handbook call out my seat height as 25.4".
I would think my setup would be comfortable for you and I think you still could lower the rear another 1", if needed.
The first thing I would do is change the rear shocks to Progressive ones that allow you to lower the bike 2" more then stock, then go for a lower seat if necessary.

You have nothing to worry about. Between shocks, seat, and handlebar selections you can position yourself anyway you want. I guess money being the main consideration here. Someone recently on the forums said something to the effect that stock harleys are blank canvases.... I got my fatty and dropped it with Progressives and put a danny gray seat on it. The stock seat is pretty wide so just swapping that out or modifying it will help a lot. Again... You won't have any problem.
