I have a new 08 Heritage Classic. It rode a little too high for me. I purchased the rear lowering kit on ebay for 22.00 with shipping. Same kit Ness is selling.I wish there was a softer set of springs available for it. I rode it with only one shock on it and really liked it. I'm happy with the stance and it hasn't hurt the handling at all. As far as the choice between the two bikes, it's a matter of personal taste. I liked the Classic because of the options on it and I got a pretty good deal on it during Bike Week in Daytona. Very pleased with it so far.
It's still a tossup for me. I like both bikes equally. It's probably going to come down to how I use it (long rides with the wife on back or long rides with the wife riding a bike of her own). Anyway, any pics you could show me would be great.
I first started out wanting a Deluxe. Man Ikept going to that dealer over and over again, not to mention how many times I went through that accessories book and wrote down all the addon goodies I wanted. After going to a couple of bike shows I fell in love with the Heritage. I had test ridden both of them and they were both very similar it just ended up on what I personally liked more.
I have a 06 deluxe and i lowered it using the arlen ness kit and it was no different than lowering my 01 duece.I only lowered the deluxe another half inch and didnt noticed any ride change at all just looks better
