I "installed" a garage door opener today. No, not the HD one... I had a spare remote that is the size of a key fob, so I used velcro to stick it under the fuel tank just behind the horn. Pretty much out of sight and easily accessible and far enough away from the hot heads. I don't usually ride in wet weather, so it should be fine unless the glue gets a bit warm and melts. I'll keep an eye on for awhile and see how it goes. Anyway, it's an inexpensive solution. I think I paid about $20 for the remote at Home Depot sometime back.
Search the Forum. I saw a therad last summer that gave directions for wiringa standard remote into your bike so when you hit the brights it opens your garage door.

I've read about doing that, which is why the velcroed fob under the tank was so appealing.
The hardest part was getting the backing off of the velcro strips. If this doesn't last, I'll look into doing it the "right way."
What size apes are those? I'm probably going to change bars and I might extend the forward controls. Also, can you use a detachable windshield with your fork mounted turn signals. Thanks.
