I had the dealer install it.
Works perfect.
I love it.

I use to have a "Tank Panel with a pouch" and had the opener in there.
All I had to do was push on the concho on the top of the pouch and it worked.
But I really like this wired into the headlight switch better.

I know several guys around here have done something with a garage opener fob
(velcro hidden it, wired it to a switch and hidden it)
but there is no worries with the HD set up.
I would still think those other ways might be open for some water penetration or just falling off.

Installed the factory one on my Deuce. Did it myself and no problems. Instructions are very good. It works very well and quite handy.

Surprised that you say it was easy to install. I read a couple posts that said it was rather involved. Something about having to raise the gas tank to run the wire to the headlights. Didn't seem right to me as I thought you just connected it into the wiring harness. How long did it take you?

It looks like a nice thing to have though rather pricey. I don't believe my wholegarage door opener didn'tcost that much. But of course it's not a HD. For now my regular garage fob in my pocket will do.

Probably took an hour, hour and a half (while talking to a friend). Had to pull off the seat, did take the front bolt off from the front of the tank and lift it a bit, but no bit deal. Take out headlight to do some wiring in there. I'm fairly mechanical but no rocket scientest (see, I can't even sell that right) and I got it done.

Had the dealer install it and still had a problem programming it correctly to my garage door opener. Works now and I highly reccommend it.

its easyer and cheaper to buy a key ring type and program it, take it apart and solder a couple wires and ground one to your frame and the other to your high beam wire. then just toggle it and you in.. $30.00 was the cost.
