I just bougth a 2006 FLSTCI. I am new to riding, but I want to switch out the factory handlebars to Wild 1 Chubbys. I am 5'10" and cannot decide between the 508's and the 518's. Which would be better for me on my Heritage in terms on comfort, control and styling. thanks...
I went with the 12 1/2" apes on my '05 Fatboy. At 5'9" they hit just slightly above the shoulders. They're comfortable, look great and handle just fine. As far as style, Wild1z has a great website with pictures of all their bars on different blkes.

Ah man! I'd love to see some pictures of your fatboy.
I'm considering the 10" Wild 1 apes myself... Using stock heritage bars now and I'm trying to stay close to that height.
I cannot tell you if you will like the style of bar, as that is a personal thing, but I can tell you that I no longer sell any bar but the Wild1's as the quality is second to none. If you decide to internal wire the bars you will really like them even more. I have a set of bars here from a company that is huge and cost of 400 and they cannot be used to run wires on the inside. They left a tube insie VERY sharp that you annot get to , ins it will cut the wire everytime you pull through!!! Never had the issue with WIld1's and if you do they will take them back not the case with the other bar maker. Live and learn. Bottom line what ever bar you shoose rest asured that you are getting a top notch bar.
That's good to know. I've heard some folks say the same thing.. That chrome front end project is starting to gel, in my head anyway... I just gotta figure out the cabling.. Ya know I gotta do the stainless cables too. Woe is my wallet.
I'm about your size and have the same bike. I went with the 518's and they are great. They made a world of difference and well worth the cost. My bike handles better and I have less fatique on long rides....
I have the Wild 1 Chubby RK II , I really like the look and the quality seems to be there, I have washed and polished these many times and they still look brand new, internal wiring sure cleans up the front end.
