Default Installing Streetslammers

If I install HD's Streetslammers do I need to change my cables, or can I use the stock cables? I have an 07 Fatboy.

You might want to give us a "bit" more information than that...like...the size of the bar, would help.

Read the installation instructions or even the HD website gives all that information.

The Streetslammers are 30.25 tip to tip and the Rise is 6.75 and the pull back is 5.75. It looks like the cables would be longer than I need, not sure if that's ok, I'm a rooky when it comes to this stuff. I would like to get away with the stock cables for now since I spent way to much money.

I thought about the street slammers and enquired about them at the dealership. According to them, the stock cables are not long enough. On the HD website, if you click the street slammers, it will tell you what cables you need for the new bars. That's the thing about getting new bars, you need new cables. And since you are going to need to spend money on new ones, you mind as well get SS or the new diamond back ones. This drives up the cost of a simple bar replacement.

I put 1.5" Carlini T-Bars that have an 8" rise on my 06 FXST and found that everything was a bit long, but I was coming from a buckhorn type bar. Per the factory Harley chrome book, I've upgraded the clutch and throttle/idle cables to the recomended length diamondback type cables, and they're shorter than stock, but work nicely. Now to avoid a furture problem, if you think that you will ever upgrade the triple trees, stay with cables a bit long. I've got a nice set of 2" Pro-One trees sitting in the box because I'm not ready to replace cables that are less than a year old. Maybe a project for next winter.

I installed street slammers on my 07 Fatboy. The cables were a bit too long, but with a little creative routing they worked fine. The front brake line was also wrong. I carefully bent the metal part up by the master cylinder and it also looks good.
