No doubt both bikeslook great. Both bikes have that 40's-50's retro look. There are things I like better about the Deluxe, then there are things I like better about the Heritage.
I like the deluxe tail light, and emblem. for example
But I like the chrome spots on the seat and saddlebags of the heritage. I like the passing lamps, and windshield (only used during cold weather) it comes with.
You just have to go with what you like.
I know the wide white walls really make that deluxe stand out.

The Heritage just semed to fit me better,i like the bars better. Liked the bags, etc. plus a good bang for buck. Both awesome bikes tho . Plus i wanted bags this time around. The stock windshield was way too tall for me.... i bolted a 15 inch memphas shades to my existing windshield frame .... 15 inch seems perfect for me. i do not like looking thru a windshield... I am 5' 11'

Gotta agree with Blown Alcohol,i too like the tombstone tailight as well as the bullet indicators on the Deluxe. Not a huge fan of the emblem though, would swap it out for the '59-'60 emblem.Wish my Heritage had an emblem instead of the sticker.

But i too like the studded look and both bikes ooze nostalgia.Have a look through the Deluxe/Heritage pics and you will see some awesome examples of both.

You say you like the looks of the Heritage better.
That should be your answer.

Between those two choices I personally would buy the Deluxe and add bags from Leather Pro and a the short Harley Nostalgic Detachable King-Size WindshieldLow Profile.
Because I'm not into all those buttons on the Heritage.

If you get a Heritage and have trouble with reaching the ground,
there are a couple of thing you can do:
lower the rear end
or
buy a Corbin seat. They will sit you lower.

The Deluxe is a great bike. That being said, the Heritage Classic is a better deal. Especially if you are looking to tour 2-up. They are basically the same bike except for the fact that the Classic comes with saddlebags, sissy bar, and detachable windshield. These items are worth $1,100. Your dealer will swap the blackwalls for whitewalls on the Classic for $100. Aslo the seat on the Classic is much more comfortable than the one on the Deluxe. Food for thought.
BTW a heritage looks fantastic stripped down like a deluxe.

Marsh,

It's a buddy's bike. It does look good. Your bike color has more potential IMO. I love the red's/maroon's. Your seat is fantastic. A friend of mine has a white heritage with springer duals that is just sick. (I need to get a photo) I love the spinger duals, they set off the left side. You can add the nostalgic fender rails front and rear. How about some Fat Daddy's? Chrome swing-arm? Still lots of options.

Here are some photos of a couple of my riding buddy's bikes. Brent's Springer with the leather reminds me of your seat.

Brad's sick heritage

That's a real German SS helmet that Casey rides with. I love the color scheme of his Springer. here's a few photos of his tank.

Love the left side with the duals

Man what great scoots. Thanks for sharing those. New inspiration. I just don't know in what direction to go. I seem to be just feeling my way and stealing ideas here and there.
I am about to have some bags made to match the seat, mainly for day triping to be able to carry a few things, but can't decide between large Heritage type or something smaller with studs.
I like the Nostalgic look a lot but seem to gravitate lately to some kind of look thats more in my head and has no particulat style.
Bottom line I'm having a good time and spending my childrens inheritance.
I appreciate all the good ideas Nails. You and your friends have really sick tastes.
