2002 FXST, I getabout 5,000 miles, mostly 2-up with a couple longer trips each year full loaded with T-Bags.I beleive they are a softer compound for safety providing good grip, so they still get some heat in them even in colder weather and rain. Have my own tire mounter now as it gets expensive paying someone else to do it.
Never made it near that on a tire,7000 the most I've ever had on a tire,I'd say you did better than normal.
Better look at your tire more often, riding on cord showing is a death wish.
If u are showing the steel u went way too far but 9600 is plenty 7500 most I ever got with stockers Avon is what I like and that is about the same but I like the little bit wider and more sidewall of them...............
I got between 12 and 13K out of my OEM Dunlops (back tire). My last 2 have been Avons and got 10K out of the 1st one. Just installed the second Avon a couple of months ago.
chromeJunkie, is that the Avon Cobra? I was thinking about that for my next tire, 5K on mine and starting to show signs of wear. How do you like Avon?
I like Avons the best and I have had good luck with the set I have so far. The big thing I have found out with a mc tire is you have to be on top of the tire pressure. I run 36 psi cold so while ridding it goes up to 40 psi and that is plenty. I am running custom 18 inch wheels on my ride so they get a little less life out of them.
