I just installed the thunder-max, new pipes and a high flow air cleaner, now everything is great except I can't link my ecm to my laptop because the end that plugs into my computer is different. Does anyone where I can find an adapter or even a whole new different cable? I'm in Sanford, FL right now and have less than 2 weeks left before I have to go back to Fort Drum, NY and really would like to start riding again ASAP.
The end on the cable is a serial port connection.
They do make a cable that uses USB connections if you don't have a serial port.
The part number is 372-000 from Zippers but you can get a USB to RS232 adapter from places like Comp USA.
Good Luck at Ft. Drum, I "visit" there every so often to fix the computers systems in the Guthrie Medical Clinic andit gets COLD up there this time of year. Thedeer can also be a real pain in the butt. So be very careful to keep an eye out for them if your riding or driving anything smaller than an armor plated Hummer.
I would recommend against Radio Shack. they are pricey, quoted me $48 for the cable ($19 from Zippers) and they have some sort of box molded in to the cord that several have found to cuase problems. Just call Zippers and have them ship you one of theirs'
