Wider Tire for my Softail (150) INSTALLED AND PERFECT THANKS!
I know the fat tire softail kits are really cool but I don't want anything wider than a
150 to 170 tire on my stock rear rim 2002 Springer Custom for now.
I also plan to put a rear and front lowering kit on it (Probably just the shock bolt kit
on the rear) and lower the bike about 1.5 inches overall.
There is a Harley kit for $500. and if I can't find anything else or a better more
reasonable kit I'll buy this one.http://www.bikernet.com/products/viewsingle.asp?ID=54
Later I (may)go for a fat 200 kit but for now I just wantto fit at least a 150
Michelin Commander on the rear.
I spent like 7 hours looking at all the posts I could find but everyone is spending at
least 2K and some guys up to 10K to do a fat tire. I don't feel the need is great
enough to spend that much to go fat!! OR PHAT LOL!![sm=crossbonesgif.gif]
Don't get me wrong, their bikes looked AWESOME and I appreciate all the engineering and work they put in to make these bikes look so great!![sm=bling.gif]
Ideas and help appreciated!!!

It would bother me tospend any money on a 150 then have to do it all over again later to go "all the way" later.
Better to just wait, save your money, and go all the way in one shot. That way you only have to do the job once and don't wind up witha lot ofleft overparts you no longer need.
Did you go fatter on your rear tire or is it stock?? [edit]Sory, just noticed yours is an '07 you already have a 200 on there stock right??[edit]
It might be a lot more $$$$ smart to wait and pull the trigger on a custom swingarm/fender/horn kit laterthan just go halfway now and be unhappy.
Thanks.
Before I spent any money on a 150mm tire kit I would think long and hard about whether or not I might want abigger tire later.

subtle change you said you were thinking of lowering the bike right, slam it it would look killer no fat tire envy here. If thats not enough put a 18" rim a 140 tire therim would sit under the fender to me that would look killer. But you gotta do what you gotta do!

It says that you can put up to an 18 X 4.5 rear wheel with a 160/60-18tire with no modification
I am running a 160 16 Avon tire mounted on a 16wheel the rear of mine with zero modifications.
