Hey Fellas--I think the Deuce is the best-looking Harley made, and it's what I really want. If it could be said that Harley makes an elegant bike, I think it's the Deuce. They're beautiful machines. (And why Harley quit makin' them is beyond me, but that's another subject.)[>:][:@]
What I'm wondering is: how many of you have fitted your Deuce with a different seat, passenger floorboards, etc? How can the Deuce be made more comfortable for two?
My wife wants to ride with me, and I want her to be comfortable. We're not lookin' to make cross-country trips, and I'm not interested in a bagger, so save yer breath. We're lookin' only to make short, "day" trips.
The sundowner looks comfy on the deuce but not my style. That is what you have to decide full comfort with no reguard to looks or little more comfort and keeping a sleek look. I chose the later.
I don't 2-up much and usually have a solo on. But just got this danny gray weekday 2-up and got some beefer rear pegs from accutronix to match my forward contrlos. Also have that bolt-on rear back pad from harley(not in pic)Take a look at Deuce picture area for some ideas.Good luck
If your lady wants to ride with you, for her comfort, I would change seats and add a backrest. Itsa compromise imo, sleeksharp looking bike, much less comfy than adresser. As you ride and age, your priorities will change. That has been my experiance.
Iffin' ya have any questions in regards to a Corbin, feel free to shoot me an e-mail, I'd be more than happy to answer any questions any of ya might have!
My wife wanted a comfortable seat so we could go on longer rides. I got a Mustang seat and backrest. My backrest fits on a HD removable sissy bar. The seat is very comfortable for her (and me). I found the Mustang seat to be very good quality. She really likes the backrest. When she is not going I can take it off in about five seconds.
I have a sundowner seat with the tall back rest. The sundowner is not good looking but it works pretty good. No complaints from the fiancee. No floor boards, just the stock pegs.
First thing I had to do was change the pipes. They're so hot that they melted my wife's boot on the right side. I ended up going to supertrapp to keep it down low and away from her feet. Already had the backrest and sundowner seat, but that seat offers little for the passenger. I sent mine in and had foam and gel added to it. I also went with progressive suspension front and rear, which helped a great deal.
Bottom line, though, I ended up buying a BMW K1200LT for our long distance two-upriding. I'll probably dump all the seat and backrest options and solo the Deuce out. The Deuce is without question my favorite bike of all time.
Good luck with what ever you do.
