i agree with everyone else and just take it to the dealer and get it fixed.
btw what # of 2600 do you got? im 960
Dealer gal was very cooperative in getting out the filed paperwork info. She did have all things filled out correctly and it's very plain that the form that was sent in showed it as a FXSTC. The state is the one that botched it up. As stated, if I send it back in for correction I stand the change of the serial number coming back wrong as well the title showing "corrected". not "new". I have to go talk to the DMV and see what they say. Incompetience at it's best from the state.
doesn't paperwork suck? When I was an E4 in the army many years ago I was stationed at FT Sill, OK. A guy in Korea cashed a bogus check at the club system. The check bounced, the people at the club system submitted it to finance. Finance took it out of my pay. My commander gets a letter that I have bounced a check. I try and explain to TOP that I had not been in Korea for 9 months. I get counselling statements, I have to attend budget counseling, go from Corporal back to specialist, and the people at finance tell me I have to contact the club system in Korea to get my money back. No one believes its not my check. I go to the IG section and the next day they call me and I have a check waiting on me in their office. The SFC from the IG's office calls my CSM and tells him the whole story and that it was a mistake on finance. CSM calls TOP, I get cussed out for going to the IG and not following my chain of command. I was corporal again the next morning.
Be glad if it just takes a little trip tot he DMV to fix your problem.
Whatever the letters & numbers are on the frame they should match the title. End of story. If not, they should change it. Should be a no brainer for them.
This happened to me also, my title stated the bike had 1 cylinder and weighed 462lbs. I checked the VIN # and then went to DMV and they corrected the paperwork for no charge. Took about 6 weeks to receive my new title.
