I saw a thread not to long ago where someone was asking about converting their exhaust to true duals. I recall that one respondermentioned a company that offers a kit that allows you to basically keep your existing exhaust, but convert it to a true dual system, and still use slip-on mufflers.
I have lost this thread, and cannot for the life of me find the right combinationof keywords to locate it again usingthe search function.
Does anyone recall this or know what companymakes this kit??
One company that sells this kit is Torres Cycles www.torrescycle.com
This is the kit that I'm looking at, I just can't get over spending upwards of 500 for a full set from V&H when all I need is the head pipes...
let us know how it works out if you do get 'em ....
The problem with the true duals for the FLSTS bikes is that the rear pipe has to be so small to clear the coil mount/support bracket, not good number on the dyno, but they look nice.....

Correct...That is true for any softail model....That is the reason I went for the 2in1...dyno number went up by 19HP..
I have the Torres kit installed on my 01 Heritage Springer, they are very easy to install. Just need a hacksaw, ruler, new set of exhaust gaskets, then you will have to rejetted. On the other hand, the chrome plating is very good but not the best, the "U shape pipe turned light gold with time. I already have this kit installed for about 3 years. I am in the process to install the new V&H true duals, just looking for a deeper sound.
I just installed my new V&H True Duals, and they sound a lot better, and I feltthe gain of power right away, in comparison with the Torres, easy fix. I think that the extra $300 are worth it.
