Default 08 Fatboy Backrest/Sissy Bar help......

I'm looking for a backrest for an 08 Fatboy but I want one that fits snug with the back of the seat. All the ones I've seen at HD have a gap towards the back pillion seat and the backrest.

If I bought the med-low sissy bar and the Fatboy pad then can I lower the sissy bar so the pad fits snug?

Also, if I went for a rigid system then I don't have to relocate the rear lights do I?

I can help a little. Sort of.

The fat rear tire and fender on the '07 & '08 Fatboys has yet to yeild much of a selection of sissy bars that are wide enough at the base to fit any sort of mounting bracket. I'm on the lookout for more choices too!

HD came out with a wide black sissy bar, but not chrome yet. Here it is: Sissy Bar

If you're like me, you are probably looking for something like this to fit the new Fatboys (but chrome which can fit into permanent rails).

I don't think I have exhausted the third-party venders yet, but so far, I haven't found what I'm looking for.

I have the medium backrest on my 07-FB. There is very little gap between the bestrest and passenger pillion. I also have the backrest pad 51641-06, it's not too large and provides good support for the passenger.

I'm looking for something more like the Softail custom seat but in two sections and not one.

I also want one that is the same kind angle as the forks but lower than the bars if you know what I mean.

I still haven't found anything.

Am I to widen the search to non-HD parts?
