Default Do I need a Fuel Pack??

Just got some V & H true duals, do I have to get a fuel pack or a power commander? I've heard mixed answers and want to know if I need to get the bike remapped or get a fuel pack or power commander. What are the consequences for not getting this done?

If you go to a free flowing air cleaner you will need at a minimum, the HD down load to keep everything ok. A fuel pak is good for the do it your self kind of person who wont be doing any engine mods like cams, or different throttle bodies or injectors. the PCII is better for tuning than the Fuel Pak but cost more, and then the SERT which is over kill in many cases unless your doing many, many engine mods and are going to race. So if you have the SE A/C or equivelant you will need something, what is up to you. if not youll be ok. However if you do get a fuel managment system you will get more power (about 10-12 hp and 10-12 ft lbs tq) and your motor will run alot cooler.

Yourgas mileage will drop off about 3-10 mpg, with the addition of the Fuel-Pak or the PCIII. Best bet for the money is the HD Stage I download available at your dealer for about $120-$150 depending on how nice a guy he is. If you are going to modify the engine in the near future, (big-bore, cams, etc), the PCIII or the SERT and a dyno tune will get the best results.

It is a must. Especially with the new 96 engines. They run hot as the are and the last thing you need is a lean running engine. Install it and if you have a temp. reader on the oil tank you will notice a small (but very important) drop in temp.
