Default toolbox problems

I installed a tool box on my crossbones and it seems to stick out alot on the side. Did you guys have to do some modifications to it. It would be uncomfortable for a passenger when one peg is out farther than the other. I did have the extension on there. Without the extension the peg is too short. Any help would be appreciated.

I use the hell out of my box. I keep all the important stuff the police like to see when they pull you over, plus a gerber, a couple of allens, and an extra set of glasses.

I ride two up a lot, and it doesn't bother my passengers at all. All and all I am very happy with the box.

Having a pair of glasses for night is always a great idea and the toolbox is much safer for them than your pocket. Compliments on your awesome sled, JayDee!

Thanks Big Smooth...

Your bike is one of my fav's on the site...those long fishtails are sick.

That's exactly what I do as far as glasses go...I keep my night glasses in the box. Doesn't get more convenient than that!

I've never had a passenger complain about it. I love mine, got the Windzone tool kit that fits inside it.

To the poster asking about the Deluxe...I have them on both sides of my Deluxe. I keep a tool kit in one and just different stuff in the other.

Just mounted the right side box on my 09 Deluxe last night .The only problem I had was the holes in the bracket won't line up with the last 2 holes in the strut.(Parts guy told me the box would not work and he was half right). The second strut bolt and the foot peg bolt lined up fine ! So its on there with two mounting points. Stock passenger foot peg still works without a spacer, just had to rotate it so it folds toward the back.

I have a leftside one I would not mind using, but no key so I took it off.

Where can I get a key, it's the two pronged type and needle nose pliers does not get it...

Thanks
Doug

I have a left side and it was all cool until I had to remove my seat.
The mounting bracket keeps the side bolt for the seat from
coming completely out. You can still lift one side of the seat if
you had to insert some jumper cables (both left and right side tool boxes would make it nearly impossible)
but for a total seat removal, it's going to have to come off again.
After the seat goes back on. The left side tool box is going back on mine.
It is good for registration, insurance card ect., but so are other things.
