i think maybe it is a little farther back.not alot but maybe just enough to make a slight difference. blew up a pic of mine and the front of box is about even with front of swing arm bolt cover
Yeah see mine sits at least 2" foward of the swing arm pivot. I just checked the JP catalog and they do not sell a bracket for my bike that isn't bundled with the tool box . Looks like i'll stick with what I've got until I figure out a way to fab one up.

I took a look at the bracket, and it looks like if I'm going to move the box, i'll need to drill new holes in the box itself...there really isn't any room for movement on the bracket itself...only on the box, and maybe just an inch or so.
I'm going to dig into it tomorrow if I have time after work tomorrow and get a better idea of whats needed to get the box moved back.
I have (1) on the left side. Yes, you do need to get a peg extender. Easy to install
I got my toolbox and tools from J&P and the peg extender from HD. Attached to this is a pic of the '08 Softail Custom.
got a black one from J&P Cycles, came with the peg extention.bracket is chromed tho.they could be powder coated.the finish was a little dull but they shine up with a little liquid wax and buffing
You wouldn't happen to have a part number or manufacturer for that, would you? I'm having no luck finding it.
Edit- Nevermind, I'm a dumba$$.
