Default Thinking about new pipes?

I've got an 02 flstfi fatboy w/stageI and SEII slipons.I'm considering changing the pipes and would like some opinions if possible. The pipes i have now are also a little troublesome for my passenger due to the rear pegs extend inbetween the pipes(burn boots).I've looked on ebay but am a little leary as to what i'm actually looking at.Seen some growlers but dont know anything about them.I also like the look of some of the V&H.If i change the pipes am i going to have to rejet/remap because of the FI.Sorry for the ignorance .Would appreciate any help. Also has anyone changed their SEII slipons for others and was the switch worth it.

I will make you a good deal on a used Power Commander 3r if you are worried about the download. It came off another members '03 Fatboy. I can't use it with my '05 that is the reason I want to sell it.

I love my SE2s. I had the same problems with my slip-ons... Burned ankles!
The pipes look better - I like the sound better - my wife likes not getting burned!

A power Commander or SERT is a electrical box that plugs into you wiring harness, and adjusts the fuel curve to your setup. You will need to do a download to the box, and then install it. If you do not go with either a PC, or SERT you will create a lean condition by installing a better flowing air cleaner, and free flowing pipes.

The factory downloads are not as acurate as going with a custom one for your bike.

Yep. I had the SE II slip-ons and changed them to the Screamin Eagle 16 guage double barrel exhaust system you see here
in my picture.

you can get them for around $440.00

When I got the SE II slip-ons I also got the HD stage 1 download because I didnt have $$$ for a power commander or race tuner.

When I upgraded the exhaust I got a PC III a month later.

If you already have the stage 1 remap, you dont need another for these pipes, but it DOES run better with a PCIII
than it does with just the stage 1 map.

Was it worth it? In a word, yes.

Looks better, sounds better, runs better, and my wife doesnt melt her boot all over them

Finalcut,

Those are not SE II's on your ride

You have the Screamin Eagle Pro 16 Guage Double Barrel Exhaust. Same pipes as me.

The SE II's are slip-on mufflers that go on the stock headers.
They are the ankle burners and passenger boot melters
I had them too before I got the full exhaust.

They are in the Screamin Eagle Pro Racing parts catelog (part# 64901-02), You wont find them in
the regular catelog or on the HD website.

I forget where I downloaded the catelog from. Its a PDF file.
but you would want to buy them from one of the on-line dealers like Chicago HD or Zanotti's.

That way you get them 20% less than most dealers will sell them to you.
