I have a 07 fatboy. That I would like to put 2 into 1 Rineharts on so my qusetion is: do I need to have a race tuner in order to get my bike to run with these pipes or is it just bolt on and go? Some people I talk to say that I have to have the race tuner and dyno time in order to get these to work others say just boltem on? Just wondering if anyone has done this so I know what I'm diving into.
If you put the 2 into 1 on I would also go with the stage 1 air cleaner and then have it remaped. I did not have my remapped and I have a half blue pipe. It was running to lean and it blued my pipe so I had to have it re-chromed. If you want better performance then you can put the sert on it and have it dyno tuned. I have it remapped and I did not have any blueing issues anymore.
Ok I see, right now I have vance in hines big radius, and have a K&N big sucker cleaner kit on it it has also had the download from harley done. I would really like to put the Rineharts on but not sure I want to spend $1600 to get it done, just wondering if I can get by without the tuner and dyno? But from what your saying it sounds like theres no way around it huh. I thought these's fuelies would be a little more forgiving but now I'm begining to wonder if I should of bought a carburrated bike instead...
fatman32,
I don't necessarily think you need a race tunerand dyno for the Rinehart 2-1 unless you want to squeeze out every ounce of HP and torque in a stock motor. I would think your going to see an increase in HP and torque just by swapping out the exhaust. If your planning on future engine mods, then I would get the SERT just to be able to get your money's worth out of the engine. You could get a Dobeck fuel module http://www.dobeckperformance.com/or a PCIII from fuel moto http://fuelmotousa.com/power_commander.htm with a map set to work with your setup. Although I don't have a 2-1 exhaust, I've got the Dobeck fuel module on my bike and it runs great. Just my humble opinion, Good luck with whatever you decide to do.
No I think that you misunderstood me. You can put the 2 into 1 on your bike and you already have the air cleaner all you need is the remap and it cost 150.00. No you dont need to spend 1600 on it. Between the pipe and the remap about 650.00. I would only put the sert on it if you do more engine mods and you want the most performance.
Any bike even stock needs something done for 07 and newer to get rid of the heat and release the performance. I gained 11hp and 9lb torque from doing stage 1 with dynotune.
Thanks for all the help, I just want to make sure I know what I'm getting into before buying the pipes. I was told my bike would run like chit (cough and sputter)if I did't do the race turner/dyno and that my pipes would blue very fast. Just don't want to chance doing any damage to my motor. By going the cheaper route.
